Members of the Senior Citizen Care Charitable Trust visited Saras Dairy today and held discussions with Managing Director Vipin Sharma.
Managing Director Sharma explained that the dairy helps around forty thousand families become self-reliant by purchasing milk from them at fair prices, processing it into quality dairy products, and distributing these to the public at minimal cost through 1,050 sales outlets. Members toured the plant and learned about the production process firsthand.
Chief guest and cardiologist Dr. Ramesh Patel spoke about diet and health for seniors, noting that a moderate intake of dairy products is beneficial for vegetarians. He advised that seniors should avoid exercise, physical labour, or walking beyond their physical capacity, but added that even seniors who have undergone bypass surgery, heart surgery, or stent procedures can walk regularly and do light exercise within their limits if their health is otherwise stable. He also cautioned against undergoing unnecessary angiography.
Singer Bhagwat Singh Hada captivated attendees with a performance of Mukesh’s songs. Trust President Dr. Anurag noted that seventy senior citizens took part in the programme.
Ashok Sharma and Rajendra Mishra welcomed the guests. Mansi conducted the proceedings, and Anupreet proposed the vote of thanks.
