SCCCT was created to rejuvenate the lives of the elders in our society by identifying the causes of the atrocities they face
and doing our level best to eliminate what’s troubling them.
SERVICE PORTFOLIO
Uniting the Elderly Community: For the people living alone, we try to unite them and stay connected and energized. The Trust conducts various activities, events, outing trips, and gatherings where these people can blend in with others of their kind and discover the essence of old age.
Medical Care for the elderly: Illnesses usually accompany senility, and most of the time, financial liabilities pose the greatest evil in the lives of senior citizens. We understand this pain and try to ease this burden of theirs in all the practically possible ways we can. SCCCT conducts free medical seminars and health check-up camps regularly, wherein every member of the SCCCT Family can avail of the services free of cost (or Nominal charges for exclusive diagnostic procedures) The Trust has signed MOUs with leading hospitals, clinics, medical stores, and diagnostic centres across the city, where the members can avail discounts on all kinds of medical procedures, services, and products. Old Age Home: our dream in progress: The SCCCT’s upcoming project, Old Age Home/Retirement Centre/Day Care Centre, is in process. With this project, the SCCCT plans to extend its services to cater to the needs of those senior citizens looking for a safe and peaceful place to spend the dusk of their lives in the lap of nature. OTHER SERVICES
REGULAR PHONE CALLS
The SCCCT team places regular phone calls to every member of the Trust, checking in on both their mental and physical wellbeing. These calls aren’t a formality — they’re a genuine touchpoint, allowing the team to identify concerns early and take appropriate action, whether that means arranging medical support, offering a listening ear, or simply following up more closely with a member who needs it.
For many seniors, especially those living alone or far from family, a phone call can mean far more than just an update — it’s a reminder that someone is thinking of them. Through this ongoing outreach, SCCCT ensures that no member feels forgotten or isolated. Every call reinforces a simple but powerful message: you are part of a community that cares, and you are never truly alone.
This consistent, personal contact lies at the heart of SCCCT’s mission — helping members feel genuinely connected, valued, and part of an extended family that looks out for one another.
WHATSAPP GROUPS
Each member is added to one of SCCCT’s official WhatsApp groups, creating a vibrant space to connect, communicate, and grow together. These groups enable members to interact freely, exchange ideas, and stay updated with relevant information.
Beyond simple communication, the groups foster a warm, supportive environment—encouraging lighthearted conversations, sharing of useful and trending updates, and meaningful engagement. Most importantly, they help nurture a strong sense of belonging, where members feel part of a close-knit family, supported by others navigating similar social, physical, and emotional day-to-day experiences.
SCCCT also maintains separate WhatsApp groups for women to provide them a platform to come together and seek and offer support when needed by fellow elderly women members.
SCCCT also has an Official Announcement Channel for all announcements/updates regarding SCCCT’s upcoming activities.
MEDICAL SEMINARS
SCCCT regularly organises medical seminars featuring renowned doctors from the city, who share insights through talks and discussions on health topics relevant to seniors. Each seminar is followed by an interactive Q&A session, where members can raise their own health concerns directly with the panel. The evening then winds down with a relaxed Hi-Tea and snacks session, where members chat, gossip, and enjoy each other’s company — making these seminars a favourite blend of learning and camaraderie.
FREE HEALTH CHECKUP CAMPS
SCCCT regularly organises free health check-up camps at various prestigious hospitals across the city, and sometimes at a common, easily accessible venue to make commuting simpler for members. These camps bring essential diagnostic and preventive care directly to seniors, often at no cost at all.
Commonly available tests and services include:
- Lipid profile test
- Blood sugar test
- Eye check-up
Reiki - Dental check-up and minor treatment
- Thyroid test
- Oxygen saturation check
- And more
Many of these tests carry steep price tags at private hospitals, but through SCCCT’s camps, members can access them completely free or at minimal charges — making quality preventive healthcare accessible to those who need it most.
GET-TOGETHERS
Small, cozy get-togethers are regularly organized for members who share the same locality, professional background, beliefs, or similar mindsets—helping them stay energized, engaged, and connected.
Venues are chosen through a simple group poll, whether it’s an in-house gathering, a garden meetup, or a public venue, ensuring convenience and comfort for everyone.
Our members truly enjoy hosting these gatherings, and there is often a long list of upcoming meetups pre-booked by enthusiastic hosts on a voluntary basis.
On special occasions, members also invite others from nearby areas to their homes to celebrate moments such as festive lunches, birthday breakfasts, and other personal milestones. To further strengthen the sense of community, SCCCT volunteers often visit and participate in these gatherings, making each event even warmer and more memorable.
CELEBRATIONS
The Trust marks a wide range of personal and festive occasions throughout the year, giving members reasons to come together beyond regular meetings. Birthdays are celebrated as they come up — such as Suresh Porwal’s, marked during one of the Trust’s regional meetings — while festivals like Holi, Makar Sankranti, and International Women’s Day are celebrated with music, games, and community participation. Anniversaries and other personal milestones are also acknowledged when they arise, reinforcing the Trust’s sense of an extended family. These celebrations, often accompanied by bhajans, folk songs, and traditional games, help create moments of joy and connection that ease the isolation many seniors experience.
PICNICS AND OUTINGS
The Trust organises a variety of outings to break the monotony of routine and give members a change of scenery. These have included day-long picnics with games and cultural performances, such as the Makar Sankranti outing, as well as institutional visits — like the tour of Saras Dairy, which combined sightseeing with a health talk from a visiting cardiologist. Boating trips and similar excursions are also part of the Trust’s outing calendar, offering members a relaxed environment to enjoy nature and each other’s company. Through these outings, the Trust aims to keep its members active, engaged, and connected to the world outside their daily routine.
Healthcare Partnerships and Member Discounts
The Senior Citizen Care Charitable Trust (SCCCT) has built a growing network of partnerships with leading hospitals, clinics, medical stores, and diagnostic centres across the city, all aimed at making quality healthcare more accessible and affordable for its senior members.
Through formal Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed with these institutions, SCCCT members are entitled to discounts across a wide range of medical procedures, services, and products — from routine consultations and diagnostic tests to medicines and specialised treatments. These partnerships reflect the Trust’s ongoing commitment to easing the financial burden of healthcare on seniors, many of whom face frequent and recurring medical needs as part of daily life.
How It Works: Members simply need to present their SCCCT ID Card at any of the partner institutions to avail these benefits. Carrying the ID Card is mandatory at the time of availing any discount — without it, members will not be eligible for the concessions offered under these MOUs.
SCCCT continues to expand this network, working to bring more of the city’s trusted healthcare providers on board so that members have wider access to affordable care, closer to home.
